My Landlord Let Me Install Air Conditioning

I live in a duplex in a city with my girlfriend. Recently we got a big dog from a no-kill shelter. He’s old and over 100 pounds, so he’s pretty lazy. My landlord was fine with us getting Bruno, because he’s not really the kind of dog that causes trouble. We love having him around and he was a great addition to our little family.

As the seasons changed from spring into summer, I began to worry about Bruno alone in the house when we were away at work. Apartment can get pretty stifling in warm weather, and it looks like summers are going to be a bit warmer where I live in the next few years. This summer was already really hot. I didn’t want Bruno to suffer in the heat so I asked my landlord if we could install air conditioning.

At first he was pretty hesitant about the idea. He said that he didn’t want to pay to have central air installed and that I could just install a window unit. I didn’t want to confine Bruno to the bedroom all day so I said that wouldn’t work. I decided to do some research.

After just a little bit of looking on the internet, I found AC-World. They offer amazing ductless air conditioning systems that can cool a whole apartment easily. The ductless air conditioning systems available at AC-World are also available with heating capability, so we were able to stop using the outdated baseboard electric heaters that had been installed in the apartment. They used a ton of electricity in the winter, and it turns out that our new unit is much more efficient.

I convinced my landlord to pay for part of my system, and I installed it myself. It was really easy. I even installed the system in the adjoining unit for free. It was easy to do while I was installing my own.

Now Bruno is happy and healthy, as are we all.
